Jermelen Nebert, whose wife, Almiya Nebert, and son were injured in a fire that happened in a residential building in Be’er Sheva last night, spoke to journalists today (Thursday) and told about the chain of events: “There was a fire at home, I called her, I talked to her, she told me ‘come save me , I love you’. I immediately called the fire department. She is sedated and ventilated. The child is breathing but with oxygen. At the time of the incident I was not at home, I was at a bar mitzvah. I have not spoken to her since then, she is sedated and ventilated,” he said.

“The building started to catch fire in seconds”: A mother and her toddler son were seriously injured in a fire at B.S

He also pointed out in pain: “I asked the mother to try to save the child, even throw him out of the window because a fire is terrible, and she saved the child. Since yesterday, they haven’t let me see her. Thank you to all the people of Israel for the support, I still haven’t been home since the incident.”

In the meantime, a project to raise funds for the family was launched on the PayBox app.

As a reminder, Almiya Nebert and her one and a half year old son were seriously injured yesterday in a fire that broke out in an apartment in a residential building on Dov Yosef Street in Be’er Sheva. MDA medics and paramedics who were called to the scene, evacuated the woman while she was sedated and ventilated to the Soroka hospital along with the toddler while he was conscious. Three more injured people were evacuated from the scene, including a 50-year-old woman in moderate condition and two lightly injured.
