In March, Hyundai was the second best-selling brand in Spain with sales of 4,548 units, which represents a market share of 7.43%, placing it second in the ranking of registrations. During the first quarter of 2022, brand sales reached 10,979 units, with a growth of 8.8% in a market that fell 11.6%, and a market share of 6.7%.

In the last month, according to the figures provided by Ideaauto to the Manufacturers Association, Anfac, a total of 2,245 units of the Hyundai Tucson, which occupies the first position in Spain, have been registered. It is followed by the Peugeot 208, with 1,709 vehicles, and the Volkswagen T-Roc closes the podium, with 1,578 registered units.

According Leopoldo Satrustegui, General Manager of Hyundai in Spain, “despite the uncertain situation we are going through, I want to thank our Dealer Network for the great effort they are making to achieve these excellent results.” He then added that “we are in line to achieve our goals for this year 2022, thanks, among other things, to models such as the Tucson, which after a year and a half on the market, continues to have such an extraordinary performance, remaining in the most top of sales.

By models, the Hyundai TUCSON has become the best-selling model in Spain both in the month of March, with registrations of 2,245 units, and in the accumulated figure for the first quarter, with registrations of 4,482 units.

In general, passenger car and SUV registrations recorded a serious drop of 30.2% in March compared to the same month of the previous year, with a total of 59,920 units. With this drop in sales, the new passenger car market has still not recovered. Compared to the same month of 2019, prior to the pandemic, there is a 51% drop.

Registrations of pure electric vehicles of all kinds (cars, two-wheelers, commercial and industrial) experienced a growth of 106.6% during the first quarter, reaching a total of 12,586 units, according to data from the Business Association for the Development and Promotion of Electric Mobility (AEDIVE) and the National Association of Vehicle Sellers (GANVAM). The rise in fuel prices makes electric mobility an upward option, with a rise of 47.9%% during the past month, reaching 5,050 registered units.
