The emblematic Italian scooter brand distributed in Spain by the Moteo Group, celebrates the 60th anniversary of its legendary J model with the presentation of the J Starwave at the EICMA Show in Milan.
This revamped version of the original 1964 model maintains the youthful and lively spirit that made it famous, but adds an innovative design inspired by surf and beach culture.
The J Starwave, available in 125 and 200 cubic centimeter versions, was designed to appeal to a new generation of motorcyclists looking for a scooter with character, unique style and customization possibilities. Its design includes a characteristic and bold element: a “board” positioned on the front shield, which evokes a small surfboard that breaks with the traditional patterns of scooter design. This garment, in addition to providing a fresh and beachy atmosphere, allows for color and graphic customizations to make each J Starwave a unique piece.
At this exhibition, Lambretta also displays customization kits that allow you to modify the graphic style of the J Starwave, from the front to the fenders. Additionally, Dutch artist Piet Linnebank collaborated with the brand to create the “Art on Wheels” collection, where his distinctive custom graphics mix figurative art with comic style, to give owners the chance to transform their J Starwave in a work of art. of mobile art. Linnebank brings his spontaneous and dynamic style, which gives an exclusive and creative touch to the Lambretta interchangeable kits.
The J Starwave combines classic design elements with modern innovations. It maintains the brand’s iconic long and low silhouette with the hexagonal headlight on the front. The aesthetics are complemented by high-level technical details, such as the front suspension system with double wishbones and double shock absorbers, while the rear offers preload-adjustable shock absorbers.
As for the engines, the J Starwave is available in two versions: the J125 with 124.6 cubic centimeters of displacement and the J200 with 174.5 cc.
Both models comply with the Euro 5 regulation and are equipped with four-stroke, four-valve, water-cooled engines, which guarantee efficiency and performance ideal for urban mobility. The Lambretta J Starwave will be available at dealerships from June 2025, with prices yet to be confirmed.
