Ogwind announced today that it has signed an agreement with the Electric Company to supply the AirBattery systems for the construction of independent stand-alone storage facilities.

As part of the agreement, Ogwind will install a storage system of about 40 megawatts per hour at the IEC substation in the Dimona area during 2023.

Ogwind will also provide ongoing operation and maintenance services to the storage system for a period of approximately 20 years.

The contract is subject to the signing of a detailed agreement between the parties until June 30, 2002.

In addition, the parties agreed on a business outline that will be valid until the end of 2030 to examine the establishment of additional projects in the company’s technology.

The establishment of the storage system, as part of the contract with the Israel Electric Company, constitutes recognition of a first-rate authority in the AirBattery system and constitutes a significant step in promoting the expansion of the company’s operations in Israel and around the world.

Agwind was established in November 2012 and specializes in the development and implementation of compressed air storage technology for the purpose of energy efficiency (AirSmart) and for the purpose of storing energy for the benefit of the electricity economy and among other sources of electricity generation from renewable energies such as PV or wind.

Ogwind operates on two fronts: the energy storage market and the air compressor market. In both, it operates using technology of an underground air compression system, which allows savings of up to 40% in the energy consumption required for high-pressure air compression. The company’s customers include PepsiCo Global, Tnuva, Strauss, Iscar, Yotvata, Rapac, IAI, Nesher Cement Works, Plastic Industries, NILIT, Keter Plastic, Aliden Plastics, and the Shalem Packaging Group.
