A total of 35 high school students from the Noreña IES said goodbye to the classroom this Friday with a solemn graduation ceremony in the center’s auditorium. It was a special occasion, since it is the year in which the institute’s half century of life is celebrated, and for this reason the students had the presence of the researcher Amador Menéndez, who gave a final talk of the course entitled “Expedition to the future: Expedition to the future: Technologies that will change our lives.”
Menéndez spoke to the kids about issues such as nanomaterials or artificial intelligence that allows the creation of robots with multiple functions or the autonomous driving of vehicles, and above all he encouraged them to “get up when you fall, because life is not a path of roses”. And in this sense, he asserted that “the future is built day by day, and we will see great changes in our lives thanks to technology.”
The act was also attended by the acting mayor, Amparo Antuña, who highlighted how “greatness is within you”, and urged the young graduates to “above all things, be happy”.
The graduation also included musical performances, speeches by the students and the traditional delivery of diplomas.
