Düsseldorf Doing a little sport and earning shopping vouchers and discount codes: Campaigns like these are now not uncommon in German companies. At the insurer Generali, for example, an app encourages employees to exercise more. Once the employees have achieved a specific sporting goal, they activate vouchers for sporting goods manufacturers such as Adidas, among other things.
The action is one of many forms of biohacking. Instead of a computer, people “hack” their own bodies and try to optimize themselves using technology. For example, they use smart bracelets or apps to document their fitness or diet – and thus increase their performance.
