The newly appointed Bangladesh Securities and Exchange Commission (BSEC) chairman Khandkar Rashed Maksud has given special importance to the regulatory compliance of the capital market. On Tuesday (August 20) in a meeting with the delegation of Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and DSE Brokers Association of Bangladesh (DBA) at the Commission Building, he discussed about ensuring good governance in the capital market.

This information was informed in a press release sent by BSEC on Wednesday (August 21).

DSE delegation led by Acting Managing Director of Dhaka Stock Exchange Sattik Ahmed Shah and DBA delegation led by DSE Brokers Association of Bangladesh President Saiful Islam participated in the meeting. BSEC Commissioner Mohsin Chowdhury and Dr. ATM Tarikuzzaman was present.

In the meeting, the general issues of the capital market were discussed with the aim of ensuring good institutional governance. At this time, BSEC Chairman listened to everyone’s views and emphasized on the regulatory compliance of the capital market.

Apart from this, he stressed the importance of market stakeholders working together to ensure transparency and accountability along with institutional good governance in the capital market by ensuring compliance with relevant securities laws and regulations. Besides, he assured the market stakeholders that the regulatory agency BSEC will take all kinds of efforts and initiatives in the development, progress and reform of the capital market.

He sought the full cooperation of important stakeholders including DSE and DBS for the development of the capital market.
