The Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) ended trading on Wednesday (July 31), the fourth working day of the week, with indices rising. However, the Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) index fell on the day. DSE and CSE traded volume increased on Wednesday compared to the previous working day. Shares of most companies traded on DSE and unit prices of mutual funds rose but fell on CSE.

According to DSE and CSE sources, at the end of the day, the main index of DSE, DSEX, increased by 10.94 points from the previous day and stood at 5,280 points. The DSE Shariah index rose 2.42 points to 1,153 points and the DS30 index rose 4.33 points to 1,886 points.

A total of 397 shares and units of companies were traded on DSE. Among them, share and unit prices increased in 171 companies, decreased in 163 and remained unchanged in 63.

Shares and units worth Tk 470 crore 58 lakh were traded on DSE on Tuesday. Shares and units worth Tk 432 crore 69 lakh were traded on the previous working day.

On the other hand, Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) CSCX index is down 27.92 points to 9 thousand 93 points. Overall index CASPI decreased by 48.25 points to 15 thousand 93 points, Sharia index decreased by 0.80 points to 980 points and CSE30 index increased by 1.93 points to 11 thousand 869 points.

Shares and units of 199 companies were traded on CSE. Among them, share and unit prices of 60 companies increased, 123 companies decreased and 16 companies remained unchanged.

At the end of the day, shares and units of Tk 13 crore 62 lakh were traded in CSE. Shares and units worth Tk 9 crore 57 lakh were traded on the previous working day.
