Simone Massi is originally from Pergola (PU), he studied Animation Cinema at the Urbino School of Art. He has over 200 awards won in the main national and foreign festivals and is considered one of the greatest international animators. “When I was commissioned to work I was delighted, excited by the idea that the La Punta della Lingua festival and the municipality of Recanati thought of me to give a shape to” Leopardi’s Infinity “- he said. the director and author Simone Massi -. Problems began immediately after, due to the author’s stature and more generally due to the awareness that poetry does not need images. So I tried to detach myself from the text and tell a small story within the story, letting the disturbances and visions flow that the text still evokes today, after two hundred years “. For his works, Massi does not use the computer but does everything by hand “on paper, like a century ago … through the use of pencils, charcoals, chalks, pastels, graphite and ink”. He also developed a technique «made of oil pastels spread on paper and then scratched with drypoint and other engraving tools». The work, commissioned by the Municipality of Recanati, is co-produced by Nie Wiem, a non-profit creative enterprise, organizer of the “Corto Dorico” film festivals and of the poetry “La punta della lingua”, as part of the “Marche of Poetry ».
