Experts said that Abkhazia is experiencing one of the best seasons in recent years thanks to the closure of a number of foreign destinations, so the return to the Russian travel market in Turkey will hardly affect the price of rest in the republic. The impact of the resumption of aviation communications with foreign countries on the resort was disclosed by ATOR specialists on their website.
According to tour operators, the demand for tours to Abkhazia has more than doubled in comparison with the pre-pandemic year in 2019. It is noted that at present the occupancy rate of popular Abkhaz hotels is 90-100% in July and August.
It is also specified that at the moment in the ranking of sales of domestic destinations, Abkhazia ranks fourth, yielding in popularity only to such Russian resorts as Krasnodar Territory, Crimea and Caucasian Mineral Waters. At the same time, the three most popular places in Abkhazia include Gagra, Pitsunda, as well as the capital of the republic, Sukhum.
