A free holiday in the heart of the Dolomites (Alps). How do you get it? You have to present your candidacy for the “worst tourist in the world”. Although it sounds strange, it is all true and is part of an awareness and promotion project. Is about the “Recharge Nature” campaign, that intends to relaunch the territory of the Dolomites from Belluno through an original and innovative contest.
The project
The aim of the campaign is to draw attention to climate change, which is happening faster in the Alps than in the rest of the planet, making the highlands one of the most vulnerable areas, according to the Sixth Assessment Report. of the IPCC.
The effects of climate change and global warming are already evident, and the campaign “Recharge Nature” wants to be an opportunity to redeem the Heart of the Dolomites, but also an opportunity to rethink tourism, educating travelers to be more responsible without sensational actions, but through small changes in everyday actions.
“Recharge Nature“offers the possibility of live a free “extreme vacation” to recharge nature: five days in nature to compensate through an experience totally outside the comfort zone for the impact of one’s own actions during the trip.

The winner of the contest “Recharge nature” will be awarded a week in the small town of Bramezza (on the slope of Mount Sasso Bianco, overlooking Lake Alleghe and Mount Civetta), which currently has only one resident. who is identified as the “worst tourist in the world” will stay in traditional accommodation without any type of comfort, accessible only on foot.
The worst tourist in the world can only resort to energy sources found in nature and totally sustainable, you will cultivate the land and eat only zero kilometer food. You will meet with the local community to learn about the fragility of a mountain territory through the stories and experiences of those who live there, love it and resist the changes that are taking place.
Through this unique experience, you will become aware of your own irresponsible behavior that, added to that of so many others, contributes to a negative impact on the planet. In the company of experts and renowned personalities -who will join him during the experience- he will begin a process of inner change towards a more conscious and respectful way of traveling.
How to take part?
You can register, until July 30on the website of Recharge Nature. Once you have entered your data, you will have to answer a questionnaire and then send a video-presentation, which is not mandatory but highly recommended and which you can insert at the end of the questionnaire (it must last a maximum of 1 minute and be in mp4 format).
