The works presented by the exhibition participants are a reflection of the times
Since 2001, the event, which has been keeping pace with the trends of new technologies, has changed its format – it has grown and expanded, but to this day it has kept its basic ideas, which aim to popularize scientific achievements and encourage the motivation of young innovators.
As the years and trends changed, the participants of Technoramas were more and more surprised not only by the novelty of the products themselves, but also by the ingenuity and creativity of the presentation: at the exhibition stands, visitors are given the opportunity to try the innovations being developed – flight simulators, solutions full of game elements, innovative health care devices or functional food products .
Every year, more than sixty innovative products from various fields are presented at the exhibition, more than one hundred and seventy participants take part, and the event itself is visited by more than one and a half thousand visitors.
“The exhibition and its content are interesting and relevant for everyone: both for a business representative looking for innovative products that can be applied in his field of activity, for an investor who wants to invest in advanced technologies, or simply for a technology enthusiast who is interested in innovation,” says the KTU event organizer. the organizers.
Dreaming about the future is necessary, but solutions are needed for the present
The theme of this year’s event focuses on the present time and the challenges that are relevant in today’s everyday life.
“When we talk about technology, we often look somewhere in the distance: in the frequent narrative that explores the topics of innovation, the focus is on the future, tomorrow, the time to come. Of course, it is necessary to dream about the future, and it is necessary to model it, but it is necessary to create here and now. Only by creating a technologically advanced present can we boldly dream about the future, which is why Technorama is inviting “doers” this year – Mindaugas Bulota, head of KTU’s National Innovation and Business Center (NIVC), talks about the main concept of this year’s exhibition.
This year’s theme was also inspired by the interdisciplinary prototyping laboratory center “M-Lab”, which opened at the end of last year on the KTU Student Campus, providing open access to experimental, prototyping and testing laboratories.
The “M-Lab” space connects ideas and those who implement them, this synergy is a direct path to the birth of innovative products and services, and “Technorama” is just the place where they can be presented to the general public”, says KTU Startup Space Verslo development project manager Tomas Proscevičius.
The success of the event is guaranteed by a strong network of partners
Every year, a wide network of business representatives contributes to Technoramas, who are given a unique opportunity to make direct contact with young talents, to get to know the products they develop more closely. Representatives of companies of various competences and fields join the evaluation committee, provide mentoring and expert assistance to developers and establish significant financial support.
Partners, joining the sponsors of the event, focus on a wide range of areas – from manufacturing industry innovations, digital solutions for communication, space and information technologies.
Since the beginning of the exhibition, the main prize of the competition has been established by the Rector of KTU. It is planned that the prize fund will reach up to ten thousand euros this year.
The main partner of the event is the division of IT company “Rocket Software” operating in Lithuania. This year, the company is contributing to the event by initiating the “Pitch Battle” competition and establishing even two cash prizes for the participants of the exhibition.
