The market for the provision of inspection and certification services reached 2,125 million euros in 2022, a figure 3.7% higher than the previous year, according to a study prepared by the sectoral observatory DBK de Informa.
In this way, the inspection segment experienced an increase of 3.6%, up to 1,895 million euros, mainly due to the good economic situation and the positive behavior of industrial activity.
From Informa, they have highlighted that the aging of the automobile fleet served as a boost for the vehicle technical inspection area, so that in 2022 close to 22.5 million inspections were carried out, which was accompanied by a new increase in rates.
In this scenario, ITV station management provided revenue of 720 million euros, 4.3% more than the previous year.
For its part, the provision of certification services generated a turnover of 230 million euros, which represented a growth of 4.5% compared to 2021.
In 2022, 452 accredited companies were identified to provide inspection services. Regarding the operators, the first five operators in the sector gathered 43% of the total market in 2022, a percentage that rose to 57% when considering the top ten, almost two points above the figure of two years earlier.
