With four performances, the summer tour of the amateur theater group of the Municipality of Dodoni “Dodonaia Skeni” is completed with the play “The Inspector” by the Russian writer Nikolai Gogol.

Today, Monday, “The Inspector” will visit Theriakisi, on Wednesday, August 21, Bafra, on Thursday, Dramesios, and on Sunday, August 25, Polygyros.
The project was directed by Dimitris Katsanos, who is also the team’s organizational director. “The Inspector” is a delightful comedy of misunderstandings, which touches on and satirizes issues such as corruption, bureaucracy, abuse of power. The play, which lasts one hour and forty minutes and is suitable for the whole family, features 15 amateur actors. The action unfolds in a small provincial town in Tsarist Russia, where news of an impending visit by a state inspector causes panic among the corrupt local lords. So when a stranger arrives in their town, everyone mistakes him for an inspector and begins to follow him in a merry-go-round of misunderstandings and mischief. “The Inspector” is a well-crafted and caustic social satire, through which the establishment characteristics of power, such as injustice and despotism, are highlighted.
Performances start at 9.30pm and are free to the public.
