DIG/ The insurance market is doing very well in Gabon.
The activity generated an increasing turnover by 11.2% to 114.50 billion FCFA in 2022.
According to the Ministry of the Economy and Investments, this performance results from the good performance of the Life branch.
Indeed, the turnover of the Life Branch, which covers savings and protection operations increased by 20.1% to 28.48 billion FCFA in 2022.
This increase is due to the good performance of traditional products in the “Savings-Retirement” branch (+13.8% to 17.99 billion FCFA) and “Death” (+13.8%).
The Companies ASSINCO, SANLAM IARD, OGAR IARD and AXA share the majority of the premiums. Their market share represents 64% of the sector’s turnover.
