He Insurance Union decreed a state of alert and mobilization in response to the layoffs that occurred last Friday in the company Prudential Insurance SA. The union filed a complaint with the National Ministry of Labor seeking to reverse the personnel reduction.
The union entity reported that there were more than 20 workers and workers firedunder the argument, put forward by the company, that the decision corresponded to a directive from the firm’s parent company, based in the United States.
For the union, led by Jorge Sola, it was surprising “the untimely and arbitrary nature of the measure” and they stressed that, “it is more than clear that business sensitivity is not the attitude that has prevailed, taking into account the serious social and economic situation that the country is going through these days, and on the eve of the end of the year,” said the union in a press release.
After the filing of the complaint and the implementation of the state of alert and mobilization, the union evaluates what measures it will carry out to continue the claim to reinstate the workers and prevent future layoffs in the activity, “We will continue fighting to have a healthy insurance activity, defending each colleague who requires our support in every corner of the country”concluded the document published by the union along those lines.
