This pioneering initiative in Latin America comes to the country through Entel to unite the north, center and south of the country.

In May of this year, the initiative became known that connected the cities of New York and Dublin through a portal which allowed people from different parts of the world to interact. This project, which had only been used in Europe and North America, arrives for the first time in Latin America, uniting three Chilean cities.

For three days, the Portal Connecting Chile unites through the infinite possibilities that technology offers Iquique, Santiago and Valdivia. It is an interactive portal that works as a continuous live video call –between cameras located in different parts of the cities–, achieving connect your residents immediatelywhere viewers will be able to watch and interact with people, friends or family who are on the other side of the country virtually.

Similar to the one that took place in New York and Dublin in May of this year. This time in Iquique, Valdivia and Santiago. PROVIDED.

The initiative arrives in Chile as part of the 60th anniversary of the telecommunications technology company, Entel, demonstrating the power of technology to bring people together.

“As its name suggests, connecting Chile has been in our DNA for 60 years. We have worked to offer a robust network that has been changing in line with technological development. Our purpose is not technology per se, it is to improve people’s lives through technology. This initiative is an invitation to bring the territory closer through connectivity,” said Entel’s general manager, Antonio Büchi.

For his part, the Undersecretary of Telecommunications, Claudio Araya, said that “Connectivity allows us to do this type of demonstration, such as being able to see people from three different cities in the country in real time through a screen, What Entel is showing us today is what many families can now access thanks to the connectivity deployment that our country is currently displaying. As Subtel, we work towards zero digital divide and through our projects we seek to ensure that connectivity reaches the different corners of Chile.”
