Time.news – The Taliban have announced the interim government: Mullah Mohammad Hassan will be the premier and Mullah Baradar will be his deputy. Mawlawi Mohammad Yaqub, son of Mullah Omar, will have the post of defense minister, Sirajuddin Haqqani will lead the interior ministry.
As foreign minister there is Amir Khan Muttaqi, the movement’s negotiator in Doha, and Mullah Hidayatullah Badri as head of the finance department.
The new government “is not complete”, said the movement’s spokesman, Zabihullah Mujahid. “We will try to get people from other parts of the country,” he added. The Taliban had promised an inclusive executive that would represent the various ethnic groups that make up Afghanistan but in the government announced so far there are only members of the Koranic student movement.
The wanted minister
Sirajuddin Haqqani, head of the Haqqani network and appointed Minister of the Interior, is the son of the famous commander of the anti-Soviet jihad, Jalaluddin Haqqani, Sirajuddin is the number 2 of the Taliban and the network founded by his father is considered by Washington a terrorist organization as well as that one of the most dangerous factions for US and NATO troops for two decades.
The network is known for its use of suicide bombers, who have carried out one of the most devastating attacks perpetrated in Afghanistan in recent years.
