The Interior Ministry of the “Hamad Government” discusses the situation of the Syrian community in Libya

The Minister of Interior of the Libyan government assigned by Parliament, Major General Essam Abu Zriba, met at the Ministry’s headquarters with the Head of the Anti-Illegal Immigration Agency, Major General Nouri Al-Saadi, the Head of the Syrian Community in Libya, Dr. Fayez Hussein, and the Director of Public Relations for the Community, Muhammad Ali Hailani.

The meeting focused on organizing the situation of the Syrian community in Libya, and the need to adhere to the laws and regulations governing arrivals. The problems and difficulties they face during their movements in cities and regions were discussed, in addition to ways to facilitate their legal status in the city of Benghazi.

The procedures for conducting analyses of the community and obtaining census cards were discussed, in coordination between the relevant security authorities and community officials, with the aim of amending and organizing their situations and ensuring that they are not exposed to legal problems.

For their part, community officials praised the Minister of Interior’s response and interest in solving the problems they face, stressing the importance of the steps taken.

The Minister stressed the need to amend the status of Arab and foreign communities residing in Libya, including conducting the necessary analyses and issuing census cards, with the aim of determining the actual numbers and ensuring that they are not exposed to any problems.
