by time news

A new gravity rope slide could lead above the village of Donovaly, the starting station of the so-called zipline track should be located below the top of Nová hoľa. The company GOIMPEX Bratislava, which operates the local ski resort, is behind the plan. This follows from the materials submitted for environmental impact assessment.

The object of the plan is to build a gravity rope slide, the expected costs are estimated by the investor at 1.5 million euros.

“It will be made up of a steel rope stretched between the boarding and exit stations, after which the rope slides will be lowered. It will also include a support rope that is used for data transmission and on which signaling balloons and visibility elements, so-called bird deflectors, are installed,” the materials state.

The zipline track should connect two parts of the local ski resort. The boarding station is planned under the top of Nová hoľa near the top station of the chair lift. The exit station should be located in the Záhradište part of the road near recreational facilities at an altitude of 981 meters above sea level.

“Passengers will sit in a seat harness, which will be developed from a paragliding harness, only improved and supplemented. Four sizes of slides with different braking power will be used for different weight categories between 30 and 125 kilograms,” adds the designer, adding that the attraction will be equipped with a braking system.

As part of the construction of the entry and exit station of the zipline, the investor is not thinking about cutting down high greenery. The construction site extends into the Veľká Fatra Protected Bird Area and the Zvolen area of European importance, but the proponent does not anticipate a significant impact on the state of the protected areas.

The company GOIMPEX Bratislava would like to start the construction of the zipline within three months from the validity of the construction permit, the work should last approximately two months. The date of commencement of operation will depend on obtaining the necessary permits.
