/ The Iraqi Football Association announced on Friday the start date of the Iraq Cup Championship during the current month of January.
The Federation informed, in a statement received by Shafak News Agency, the clubs of the Iraqi Stars League and the Premier League clubs for the current season 2023-2024, that the Iraq Cup Championship competitions will start on the 26th of this month.
The Iraqi Football Association decided to suspend the league as of last Monday indefinitely, due to the national team’s involvement in the Asian Championship, which is scheduled to start in Qatar on the 12th of this month.
The Iraqi Football Association Competitions Committee linked the period during which the Iraqi Premier League competitions will be suspended to the results achieved by the national team in the Asian Championship.
