/ The Iraqi Handball Federation announced on Wednesday that Premier League players are allowed to transfer to clubs participating in the Elite League for the 2023-2024 season.
The head of the Iraqi Handball Federation, Ahmed Riyad, told Agency, “The federation decided to allow the transfer of players from the lowest to the highest,” explaining that “the Premier League club player now has the right to move to the elite club teams after this was not permitted previously.”
He continued: “The clubs must complete all procedures during the two days remaining until the start of the second stage of the Elite League, which the Federation has set for the 29th of this month, in order to allow their players to enter and participate in the competitions of the second stage of the Elite Handball League.”
He pointed out that new contracts for players moving from the Premier to the Elite are made under the same terms as the transfer between the Elite clubs, indicating that the transferred player must bring a letter of dismissal from his original club to allow him to transfer officially.
He added, “The Federation stressed that all clubs must complete the cards of players participating in the league, and no player has the right to participate in matches if he does not have his own playing card.”
