/ The Iraqi Olympic team defeated its Egyptian counterpart 1-0 on Saturday evening, in a trial match hosted by the UAE Football Association Stadium in Dubai in preparation for the AFC U-23 Championship.
The first half ended in a goalless draw, and the result remained the same in the second half until the last minute of the match, when the goal for the Iraqi team came in the 90th minute, scored by the player Halo Faiq.
The draw for the AFC U-23 Cup placed Iraq in the third group, alongside Saudi Arabia, Thailand and Tajikistan. The championship competitions will start in April next year in Qatar.
The Iraqi Olympic team defeated FC Akron, one of the first-class clubs in the Russian league, by two goals to no return in the training match that took place between them last Wednesday in Dubai, which is part of the curriculum of the ongoing training camp in the United Arab Emirates.
