/ The Iraqi Olympic football team will face the Togo Olympic team today, Saturday, in a friendly match in preparation for the upcoming Asian Championship.

The national team coach, Radhi Shenaishil, told Agency that the Olympic team is ready to meet the Togo national team after playing a series of matches during its current training camp in the Emirates, indicating that the match is important against a team from the African school, which is the fourth in the Iraqi team’s preparations for the Asian Championship.

He added, “The team continues its intensive training in its ongoing training camp in the UAE in preparation for the AFC U-23 Championship, which will be held in Qatar next April.”

He explained that “the Iraqi Olympic team is facing a strong African team like the Togo team today, and in such a friendly match, the opportunity will be given to the largest number of players in order to harmonize, accumulate experience and reach readiness.”

The Iraqi Olympic team had defeated its Emirati counterpart 4-0, and the Egyptian team 1-0 in its second friendly match. It also defeated FC Akron, one of the first division clubs in the Russian league, 2-0 in the first friendly match it played in its training camp in the Emirates, in preparation for the AFC U-23 Championship.
