The Israeli Army has dropped leaflets in the Gaza Strip asking residents of the Palestinian enclave to provide information on the location of the more than 200 hostages captured by the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) during its attacks on October 7.

“If you want a better future for yourselves and your children, provide tangible and useful information about the hostages held in the area,” states the message, written in Arabic, as indicated by the Israeli Army on its website. “The Israeli Army promises that it will do everything possible to guarantee his safety and that of his home and will give him a financial reward. We promise total confidentiality,” he adds, while providing contact numbers.

The leaflets were released a day after Hamas freed two women, identified as Yocheved Lifshitz and Nurit Cooper, kidnapped during the attack on the Nir Oz kibbutz. The office of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu thanked Egypt for “its help” and the International Committee of the Red Cross “for its important, life-saving role.”

Hamas attacks left nearly 1,400 dead and more than 220 kidnapped. For their part, the authorities of the Gaza Strip, controlled by the Islamist group, have confirmed more than 5,300 Palestinians killed by the Israeli Army’s bombings, in addition to more than 90 in operations by the Israeli security forces. and settler attacks in the West Bank.
