Apparently, the Black Friday 2021 promotions in Israel today (Friday) led to high activity in public spending on credit cards, when the record was easily broken from 2020 and by a considerable margin with transactions of hundreds of millions of shekels in total.

Data from the Shebaa (Automatic Banking Services) Company, which manages and develops the national credit payment system, shows that between 8:00 and 14:00, only six hours, expenses totaled more than NIS 745 million today.

This is an increase of 22.1% compared to last year, when on November 27, 2020, between the hours of 8:00 and 14:00, expenses were recorded in credit cards in the amount of only NIS 610 million, a difference of NIS 135 million in total.

Last Friday, November 19, 2021, expenses totaling NIS 655 million were recorded during these hours. By the way, the busy minute today was 12:13, during which more than 12,800 credit card transactions were recorded in the amount of NIS 3.2 million and bypassed the previous busy minute at 10:58, when transactions were recorded for NIS 2.8 million.
