At the morning conference of President Andrés Manuel López Obrador last Thursday, the functions of the director of the Civil Registry of Puebla were explained to the president, Jose Francisco de la Fuente since they mention that since their admission there have been irregularities in the organization.
Since last July, records were discovered by the National Migration Institute (INM) and the National Population Registry (RENAPO), consisting of birth and marriage certificates issued in Puebla with Asian names and surnames.
For its part, the State Government dismissed the case, saying that it was a media report; however, after the situation was brought to the attention of the President, the Ministry of the Interior has indicated that an investigation has been underway for several days to determine the veracity of the allegation.
For its part, Javier Aquino LimonSecretary of the Interior of Puebla, stated the day before that the case will be brought up at the morning conference, that there is already an ongoing investigation into the activities of Francisco de la Fuente and that currently the deputy director Carlos Reyes was in charge of the office, leaving open the possibility that De la Fuente has been removed from his position.
Governor Sergio Salomón Céspedes said that the case will be clarified since his government does not allow this type of irregularities to exist.
