Time.news – Oussama Atar (believed dead in combat in Syria), Mohamed Abrini, Osama Krayem, Salah Abdeslam (already sentenced to life imprisonment for the night attacks of the Bataclan on November 13, 2015 in Paris), Ali El Haddad Asufi and Bilal El Makhoukhi were declared “guilty” of terrorist murder in the trial for the attacks in Brussels on March 22, 2016.

Sofien Ayari, Hervé Bayingana Muhirwa and Smail Farisi were acquitted of terrorist murder charges.

The President of the Court of Assizes, Laurence Massart, read at breakneck speed the 287 pleas of guilt against the eight defendants. In her motivations, the jury underlined “the horror of the scene” after the explosions that took place at Brussels airport and at the Maelbeek underground station.

The death toll from the massacre of March 22, 2016 was 32 victims (to which are added another four deaths that occurred in the years after the attacks).
