The Judicial Inquiry Commission will take ‘foreign technical assistance’ for a fair and standard investigation into the deaths related to the quota reform movement. Bangladesh has already welcomed the interest of ‘United Nations assistance’ in this regard.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina said this during a courtesy call on German Ambassador to Bangladesh Akhim Troster at the official residence Ganabhaban on Tuesday (July 30).

Later, Prime Minister’s Press Secretary Naemul Islam Khan briefed the journalists.

Naemul Islam Khan said, “Our judicial inquiry (investigation) committee (has been formed), to conduct a fair inquiry, foreign technical assistance will be taken for their inquiry to be of a very high standard.”

The Prime Minister’s press secretary said regarding the assistance of the United Nations in the investigation, “There has already been a communication with the United Nations regarding cooperation (assistance to the judicial commission of inquiry formed to investigate the recent violence). The United Nations has expressed interest in communication, Bangladesh has also shown enthusiasm.

Quoting the German ambassador, Naemul Islam Khan said, ‘In the Prime Minister’s speech, they (Germans) are strongly hopeful that there will be an independent investigation. The miscreants will be identified and prosecuted.’

Quoting the ambassador, the press secretary also said, “Germany has no sympathy for those who are allies of religious extremism.”

Naemul Islam Khan said that at the beginning of the meeting, the German ambassador expressed his condolences and condolences to the Prime Minister expressing solidarity with the national mourning that Bangladesh is observing due to the loss of life in the recent violence.

Germany will be with Bangladesh, quoting Ambassador Akhim Troster, Naemul Islam Khan said, ‘Germany will be with Bangladesh. They have a long-term relationship with Bangladesh and they will continue to be with Bangladesh.

The Prime Minister expressed satisfaction with the traditional and existing good relations between the two countries and said the Press Secretary said, ‘Friendship with Germany since the time of Bangabandhu and several German families adopted the war children of Bangladesh; The Prime Minister recalled that.

Talking about the slowness of the visa process, the press secretary of the Prime Minister said, “The German ambassador has expressed regret for the slowness of their visa process. Ambassador said, it is not due to loss of good will (reputation). This is due to their (German embassy) capacity and resource limitations.’
