The investigation could lead to the expulsion of the mediatic Galician judge from the Judicial Career

He General Council of the Judiciary has opened a disciplinary file to the judge Jose Antonio Vazquez Tain for carrying out “activities presumably incompatible” with judicial activity. Specifically, the body of judges, through the promoter of the disciplinary action, requests explanations from the chief magistrate of the Criminal Court number 2 of A Coruña about his relationship with the production company Amarola Producciones SL, which is managed by his wife, the lawyer from A Coruña Beatriz Seijo.
Vázquez Taín (A Merca, 1968), well known for having been the investigator of the Asunta Case, among many others, produced the documentary O Camiño Mozárabe: blood, sweat and faith. What the Judiciary now wants to know is whether the magistrate carries out his business activity without the required authorization. Although at the moment it is only the opening of a file, if resolved against the interests of the judge, it could lead to a fine of between 501 and 6,000 euros. And if it is considered that the fault is very serious, even it could end with his expulsion from the judicial career.
The investigation was initiated by the president of the Superior Court of Justice of Galicia (TSXG), José María Gómez y Díaz-Castroverde, and indicates that the regime of incompatibilities for the Judicial Career is due to “the substantial purpose of preserving their independenceavoiding the danger that its members may become involved in activities that generate interest.
The governing body of the CGPJ had already sent him that his participation in a production company could be incompatible with the exercise of the judiciary.
