On the 24th, the Justice Party proposed a special prosecutor’s bill to investigate allegations of stock price manipulation by Mrs. Kim Gun-hee, wife of President Yoon Seok-yeol.
Justice Party Chief Spokesperson Kim Hee-seo said at a briefing at the National Assembly that day, announcing the so-called ‘Kim Kun-hee Special Prosecutor’s Proposal, “We will fulfill our responsibility to uncover the substantive truth of Mrs. Kim’s stock price manipulation suspicion, which has never been subpoenaed for investigation.”

Regarding the trial of those involved in stock manipulation of Deutsche Motors held at the Seoul Central District Court the previous day, Chief Kim said, “Investigation and trial were also conducted against the person who bought and sold stocks through Mrs. Kim’s account and the buyer of 300 million won, but the stock price of at least 4 billion won The prosecution’s investigation and the law still do not reach Mrs. Kim, who was exposed to the manipulation of the purchase.”
Chief Kim continued, “All compasses now point to Mrs. Kim’s ‘Deutsche Motors stock price manipulation’ special prosecutor.” It is time for the people and the National Assembly to step in.”
The Justice Party side’s special prosecutor Kim Kun-hee’s law has a strong character of a ‘one-point special prosecutor’ that only deals with suspicions of stock price manipulation by Mrs. Kim. The scope of the investigation is narrower than the Democratic Party’s proposal to investigate a wide range of false career suspicions.
As for the candidates for special counsel, it was stipulated that ‘a bargaining group to which the president does not belong and a party in the parliament that is not a bargaining group’ select two candidates and recommend them to the president. In other words, the Democratic Party, a negotiating group excluding the power of the people, and the Justice Party, the Era Transition, and the Basic Income Party, which are non-bargaining groups, will have the right to recommend.
