Lhe construction work on the Kagbélen interchange, located in the prefecture of Dubréka, was launched on April 12, 2021. Two (2) years later, place at the inauguration which took place this Tuesday, April 18, 2023 by the President of the transition, Colonel Mamadi Doumbouya, in the company of his Rwandan counterpart Paul Kagame on a friendship visit since yesterday Monday in Conakry. A ceremony which saw the participation of members of the CNRD, the Government and several personalities of the country, but also local residents and highly mobilized media men.
In a speech read on the occasion of this inauguration, the Minister of Infrastructure and Public Works, indicated that the Kagbélen interchange is an integral part of the many projects and achievements currently underway in the country. This is why it will be said further that the Government will invest for the 2023 budget year, more than 4 trillion Guinean francs in the public works sector.
“My department will be taken in the coming weeks to the completion and inauguration of several infrastructures, in particular the bridge over the Soumba river in Dubréka, the Coyah-Framoriah-Sierrs Léone road, the bridge over the Milo Kerouané river, interchanges Km36, Bambéto and the upcoming start of work on the Hamdalaye Corniche, Sonfonia, including the Hamdalaye interchange. These achievements are part of a vast infrastructure planning and development program which certainly contributes to harmonious development throughout the national territory. This is therefore an opportunity for me to thank the defense and security forces, the administration and control of major projects, users and local populations and all those who have contributed to the success of this work,” said El Hadj Gando Barry.
Present at the scene, the Minister Spokesperson for the Government suggested that in general, 2023 and 2024 are years that will be concretized by the provision of the populations of several works which are currently in progress.
“After the Kagbélen interchange, that of km 36 will follow and then the other structures that are in the country. But also, the roads which are being paved and the hospital and university infrastructures which are in the process of being created. Also the important projects in agricultural and digital development that are following. There are therefore a lot of projects whose implementation will be punctuated in 2024,” said Ousmane Gaoual Diallo, head of the Posts and Telecommunications Department.
It should be remembered that it was with the cutting of the ribbon by President Colonel Mamadi Doumbouya, who had to make this space official for users, that the ceremony ended.
