The good news for the film industry is that some relatively small productions are succeeding, along with large canvas films starring superstars. The latest such release from Bollywood is The Kashmir Files. Directed by Vivek Agnihotri, the film tells the story of the departure of Kashmiri Pandits. Reaching theaters on Friday, the small budget film has garnered rave reviews from audiences. This is also reflected in the first day collection.

Kashmir Files was also behind the number of release centers as compared to big Bollywood movies. But on its first day, the film grossed Rs 3.55 crore. Vivek Agnihotri’s previous film The Tashkent Files (2019) has surpassed the collection of one week in one day. Tashkent files earned Rs 3.50 crore in the first week. The theater audiences have increased the show count of the film after seeing the reaction of the audience on the first day. Trade analysts expect this to be a good reflection of this weekend’s collection.

The length of the film is two hours and 50 minutes. The film is based on real events and stars Mithun Chakraborty, Anupam Kher, Darshan Kumar, Pallavi Joshi, Chinmayi Mandlekar, Puneet Issar, Prakash Belavadi, Atul Srivastava and Mrinal Kulkarni in the lead roles. Audiences say that the characters in the film, including Anupam Kher, were excellent. Prior to its release, the film received rave reviews from both audiences. Director Vivek Agnihotri’s film is based on the experiences of individuals directly affected by the Kashmir riots.

The film begins in 1990, when the riots in Kashmir escalated. After explaining the severity of the situation at that time, the story goes to the present. The film begins with children playing cricket and ends in a tomb. There are also reactions that the hours in between made the film tense in the minds of the audience.
