In this case, he is accused of molesting three teenagers – according to the prosecution, the crimes were committed between November 2018 and February 2020 in Lithuania and abroad.

R. Jakštys was brought to the court session from Kaunas prison, where he is serving a sentence for previous sexual crimes.

Unlike in the first two cases, the man from Kaunas does not admit his guilt.

The hearing lasted a short time, because the defendant, who was previously defended by even two lawyers, appeared this time without defense counsel – according to R. Jakškis, the last contract with the lawyer was concluded only on Monday evening. Due to the absence of the defender, the hearing had to be postponed, and the date of the next hearing of the case has not yet been set.

The mentor participated in excursions, student camps, seminars, programs related to teaching and education – he had the opportunity to get to know many students. He committed crimes in apartments and hotels.

The chain of cases of R. Jakškis has been going on for several years – in December 2021, the Kaunas District Court sentenced him to a custodial sentence for the molestation of 4 minors, which was changed to a 90-day arrest due to non-compliance with the obligations not to communicate with minors.

Even before the end of the first trial, R. Jakštys committed new crimes – he was charged with molesting a teenager under the age of 16 and satisfying sexual passion, violating the minor’s freedom of sexual decision and inviolability.

In the second case, three teenagers aged 15-17 were recognized as victims: R. Jakštys committed the crimes from mid-August 2021 to February 27, 2022.

For this, in June 2023, the Kaunas District Court sentenced him to a real prison sentence of 3 years and 1 month. The Kaunas District Court delivered R. Jakšti to prison on April 3 of this year, and 5 days later, police officers delivered him.

In the last trial, R. Jakščius faces imprisonment for up to 5 years.

The case of the infamous mentor revealed the inability of the institutions to prevent new crimes – before the first case could be examined in the courts, he found new victims, and neither the courts, nor the law enforcement, nor the State Child Rights Protection and Adoption Service prevented this.

He continued to be released for a long period of time as he maliciously violated prohibitions against contact with minors.
