The shocking incident took place during the annual kite flying competition in Sri Lanka. During the Thai Pongali competition held at Point Pedro in Jaffna, a group of six people were trying to fly a giant kite tied with jute rope.
As the kite began to rise, all but one of the five were caught off the ropes. With the young man clinging to the rope, the kite quickly jumped to the top. The young man, who had reached a height of 30 feet, hung on the ropes in the air for a minute.
Eventually he came down slowly and when the danger reached a low altitude he jumped down and escaped unharmed. As the giant began to soar into the air with the young man, his friends called out to grab him by the rope. Scary scenes of the incident went viral on social media.
