Mumbai: Saurashtra player Sheldon Jackson has openly said that it is a strategy of the selectors not to take the players to the team on the basis of their age. The 35-year-old Jackson said that even when he was 31 years old, he was often insulted by the name of his age.
Jackson, who has been performing well in domestic cricket, is yet to play in an Indian jersey. He played for Kolkata Knight Riders in the last IPL but failed to shine in the opportunities he got. Debuting for Saurashtra in 2011, Jackson has scored 5947 runs at an average of 50.39 in 79 first-class matches and 2346 runs at an average of 37.23 in 67 List A matches.
