DECRYPTION – A structural crisis is affecting the business district. Investors and businesses are demanding swift action.
« We are at an important moment for Defence : that’s the end of a model. » Cédric de Lestrange, administrator of the Association of Users of La Défense (Aude), which brings together investors and companies that use the buildings, hits hard. The La Défense business district, the largest in Europe, has gone through many crises since it was created in the 1960s But although it has adapted, the central model has not changed. The difficulties today seem much more serious. So the association brought together 250 elected officials, decision-makers and state representatives on Tuesday 1 October to assess the current crisis and propose solutions.
