The Lancet: Coronavirus affects intelligence like a stroke

An article was published in The Lancet magazine, the authors of which argue that the coronavirus COVID-19 can affect the intelligence of patients, and the degree of this effect depends on how the body has transferred the coronavirus itself.

As stated, the coronavirus transferred in “medium” form has an effect on intelligence comparable to a stroke, but if patients were connected to ventilators, it was even more noticeable.

When analyzing the results obtained, specialists paid attention to factors such as age, race and gender of patients, as well as a number of criteria that determine their social status.
