Dr. Ashraf Tadros, Professor of Astronomy at the National Institute for Astronomical Research and former head of the Department of Astronomy, said that amateurs and lovers of astronomy will have a date, on Thursday, December 29, with the conjunction of the moon with Jupiter, in a dazzling scene for stargazing lovers around the world in a phenomenon seen with the naked eye in the sky.
“Tadros” explained that we are seeing the conjunction of the moon with Jupiter (the giant of the solar system) now, as we see them side by side in the sky for the second time during this month at nightfall until the beginning of their sunset around midnight.

Jupiter is considered one of the brightest celestial bodies in space, preceded by the Earth’s moon, Venus, and sometimes Mars. Some consider it the second brightest planet after Venus, and Jupiter is closer in composition to stars than planets, as if it were larger than its size current eighty times, it would have been considered a star and not a planet.
