The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered leaked for PlayStation 5, set for January 2024 release

Fans of The Last of Us series have been eagerly awaiting news about a remastered version of the second installment, and it seems that their wishes are about to come true. A leak from the PlayStation Store has revealed that The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered is in development for PlayStation 5 and is set for release on January 19, 2024.

The leak, first reported by PSdeals.net, includes screenshots from the remaster with the phrase “captured on PS5” visible in the corner, indicating that the game is being specifically optimized for the new console. Insider Gaming has gone even further, reporting that a short teaser trailer for the game has also been leaked, featuring footage from the Part 1 remaster as well as Part 2 footage.

While the leak has sparked excitement among fans, it’s worth noting that the trailer makes no mention of a Windows PC version of The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered. Sony has been bringing many of its first-party games to PC in recent years, but there has typically been a lag time of more than a year before those PC ports arrive.

Polygon has reached out to Sony for confirmation but has not received a response at the time of this writing. With the leak gaining traction online, it’s likely that Sony will make an official announcement regarding the remastered version in the near future.

Stay tuned for updates on The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered as more information becomes available.
