The Presidential Council Chairman, “Mohamed Al-Menfi,” discussed with the Under-Secretary-General for Political Affairs of the United Nations, “Rosemary DiCarlo,” the latest political, economic and military developments in Libya, according to the media office of the President of the Presidential Council.
This came during a meeting that brought them together with the Deputy Special Representative of the Secretary-General in Libya, Acting Head of Mission, Stephanie Khoury, on Sunday evening at the headquarters of the Presidential Council in Tripoli.
During the meeting, Al-Manfi stressed his continued support for the UN mission and working with it in partnership by strengthening national ownership of solutions, consensus, and unifying institutions within the framework of the political agreement and its complementary roadmap, to enhance stability and complete the elections.
For her part, the Under-Secretary-General stressed the need for joint action to urge all parties to commit and participate in order to reach consensual results that would lead the country to a stage of stability.
DiCarlo is holding several meetings in Libya, starting today, Sunday, with a meeting with the head of the Government of National Unity, Abdul Hamid Dabaiba. Her visit will continue until next Wednesday to meet with “key stakeholders” in Libya, according to the United Nations website.
