Since the publication of the previous ranking in September, Latvian footballers played two matches in the C division of the UEFA Nations League, where they lost 0:3 at home to North Macedonia and drew 1:1 with the national team of the Faroe Islands.
Armenia is also playing in the fourth group of the C division, with whom the Latvian national team will meet on November 17.
The national team of North Macedonia has risen by three positions to the 69th place in the FIFA ranking, the national team of Armenia has fallen by three places, occupying the 99th position, while the Faroe Islands are two places higher and are in the 138th position.
The Estonian national team has lost two places and occupies the 124th position, while the Lithuanian national team has also fallen by two places and occupies the 141st position.
In the European Football Association (UEFA) country rating, Latvia is 47th, ahead of the Faroe Islands, Lithuania, Moldova, Malta, Andorra, Gibraltar, Liechtenstein and San Marino.
The Latvian national team’s record in the FIFA ranking is 45th place, which was achieved in 2009. On the other hand, the anti-record is the 148th position in 2017.
In the top ten of the ranking, there have been no changes in the first six and the leader is still the World Cup winner Argentina, followed by France, the European champion Spain and its opponent in the final of the European Championship, England. Brazil ranks fifth, and Belgium ranks sixth. Portugal has moved up by one place to the seventh position, the Netherlands has lost one place and is in the eighth place, Italy has moved up from the tenth to the ninth place, and the top ten is completed by the finalist of the “Copa America” Colombia.
