The youngest members of the national team will be strikers Olivers Mūrnieks, Rūdolfs Bērzkalns, Martins Klaucāns and Roberts Naudiņš.
There, in Canada, the Latvian national team played two test matches, in which they lost to their peers from the Czech Republic and Switzerland with an identical score of 1:5. The Latvian U-20 national team held a ten-day training camp in Canada.
The Latvian U-20 national team includes three goalkeepers, eight defenders and 14 forwards. The rules of the tournament provide that an injured player, whose injury no longer allows him to participate in the competition, may be replaced and another hockey player may apply in his place.
The Latvian national team will be in the same group as Canada, Finland, the USA and Germany at the World Championship. Sweden, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Switzerland and Kazakhstan will meet in the second group.

The top four teams in each group will advance to the quarter-finals, while the fifth-placed teams will play one game to stay in the elite group.
