Kochi: KV Thomas said that the LDF has not lost in Thrikkakara. The increase in votes in the steel fort of the Congress is a big deal. The CPM will look into the fall. KV Thomas said that the media gave the impression that he was an opportunist. He was reacting to the remark that KV Thomas was ousted but did not get votes. KV Thomas said that only the individual will not get votes.
Silver line is required for the position. There is no change in his position. The CPM will examine how this affected the election. He is still a Congressman with a Nehruvian socialist outlook and not part of the LDF. No positions required to stand.

In the wake of the Thrikkakara by-election defeat, anger is simmering within the Left Front against the Silver Line. The CPI leaders have come out with a public stand that the referendum should be a lesson.

Leaders at the CPI (M) state leadership meetings, including Mullakkara Ratnakaran, were highly critical of the government’s move to impose power on the people by pretending not to see the agitations. But Kanam sided with Pinarayi. With the Thrikkakara by-election looming, the CPI (M) state secretary’s stand that there should be no opposition on development issues has been put on hold for the time being. But when the result came, everything turned upside down. Development is needed, but do not forget the lesson that in a democracy there are big people, Binoy Vishwam fired the first shot.
