BOLZANO. Sinistra-The Leftthrough the Italian Left Senator Giuseppe De Cristofaro, asked to submit a parliamentary question relating to the possibility of declaring Martin Sellner person “non grata” in Italy.

The leader of the Austrian far right and the identitarian movement had announced one of his own on visit to Bolzano and a meeting with the provincial councilor Jürgen Wirth Anderlan.

The president of the Group for Autonomies co-signed the question Julia Unterberger: “Sellner is persona non grata in numerous countries, such as Germany. We ask the Ministry of the Interior if Italy intends to undertake a similar measure, given that Sellner is one of the most dangerous exponents of the far right in Europe. The fact is regrettable let him come to Bolzano”.

Due to his extremist positions, Sellner is banned from entering Germany, the USA and the United Kingdom. Sellner is an advocate of “remigration”i.e. the massive expulsion of foreigners, but also for example of German citizens of “non-assimilated” foreign origins.

Anpi Alto Adige Suedtirol had asked to deny entry to Italy to the Austrian politician in view of the announced meeting on 5 May.
