“Since there is very little time left before the new elections, this change will fundamentally change nothing. The deputy minister proposed for the post knows the work that has been started, but he can’t really change anything. For change to happen, serious political decisions are needed. Politicians do not fully understand the depth of the problems, they criticize, but they do not have solutions”, A. Gerliakienė emphasized in Eltai on Friday.
According to the leader of the Medical Movement, it was obvious that A. Dulkys, who received criticism from the Presidency, would no longer continue his work in the Government.
“The accusations that are being thrown at the minister are completely populist and are used in order for political parties to collect more bonuses. Even before becoming a minister, there was tension between Nausėda and Dulkios, who was an unsystematic person who was not suitable for many things. Therefore, it was to be expected. The result has been achieved,” she emphasized.
ELTA reminds that Prime Minister Ingrida Šimonytė presented the draft decree on the formation of the Government to President Gitanas Nausėda for approval on Friday.
The Minister of Agriculture Kęstutis Navickas is no longer in the new cabinet – he is to be replaced by Kazis Starkevičius, the current head of the Economic Committee of the Seimas. The Minister of Health Protection, Arūnas Dulkys, is also being replaced. His position will be taken by the current Deputy Minister Aurimas Pečkauskas.
In recent weeks, the Presidency has been critical of Health Protection Minister A. Dulkis.
Last week, on Monday, G. Nausėda signed a decree appointing I. Šimonytė as Prime Minister. The politician must form and submit a new government to the president by next Monday – then the 15-day deadline provided by the law expires.
