The leader of the Wagner Group, Yevgueni Prigozhin would have reappeared surprisingly in St. Petersburg, where the second Russia-Africa Summit is being held, along with a member of the Central African Republic delegation, according to publications by CNN and social network channels related to the paramilitary organization.

The image shows Prigozhin dressed in jeans and a short-sleeved white shirt shaking hands with the alleged Central African diplomat, who wears an accreditation ribbon around his neck that does coincide with the one worn by African leaders at the summit.

The American news chain CNN managed to geolocate the photograph and located Prigozhin together with the Central African government official, at the Trezzini Palace Hotel in Saint Petersburg.where Prigozhin has an office, according to Russian media.

This hotel was one of those searched by the Russian authorities after the group’s attempted rebellion.

This would be the first image of Prigozhin inside Russian territory since he led an attempted rebellion against the Russian authorities at the end of June, the Europa Press news agency reported.

The head of the mercenaries, critical of the Kremlin’s military leadership, even led a march from Rostov to Moscow that almost compromised the stability of President Vladimir Putin.

Already in mid-July these social media channels in connection with the Wagner Group published a video in which Prigozhin was apparently observed at a military training camp in Belarus. encouraging the mercenaries present there by virtue of the agreement reached with the president of the country, Alexander Lukashenko.

Although there has been no official confirmation, CIA director Bill Burns did later acknowledge that Prigozhin was in Mins, the capital of Belarus.

“It’s moved a bit,” he said then.
