Rashed Khan Menon, president of Bangladesh Works Party, has condemned the incident expressing deep concern over the attack, violence and loss of lives of students protesting for quota reform.

At the same time, the slogan raised by the quota agitators calling themselves ‘Rajakar’ is sad and unfortunate.

In the chief guest’s speech at the meeting of the editorial board of the Workers’ Party on Wednesday, he lamented that this slogan has proved that a group is not only ready to stand the logical movement of quota reform in opposition to the liberation war, but they are already raising these stubborn slogans to take the leadership of the movement. It is not only dangerous for the quota reform movement but also dangerous for the spirit and tradition of the freedom struggle of the country.

Former minister Menon said that the leadership of the quota reform movement has now passed into the hands of BNP-Jamaat-Chhatra Dal-Chhatra Shibir. They now want to transform this movement into a change of government. Which is like fishing in murky water.

The issue of quota reform should be reached in a logical way as per the directives of the Liberation War and the Constitution.

The general secretary of the party, Fazle Hossain Badsha, said in the speech of the president, that the government should reach a solution in this matter without leaving the responsibility on the court.

He said, the leaders of the editorial board should be responsible for building the party. In order to make the rally to be held in Dhaka on October 5 successful, the leaders should coordinate with the Politburo, district in-charges and mobilize the organization to play a role in building the future Bangladesh on the basis of equality, equality and justice in the spirit of the liberation war.

The meeting was attended by members of the editorial board, Tapan Kumar Dutta Chowdhury, Sharif Shamsir, Comrade Dipankar Saha Dipu, Ed. Jobaida Parveen, Mostafa Alamgir Ratan, Sabbah Ali Khan Collins, Kishore Roy, Shahana Ferdowsi Lucky, Comrade Murshida Akhtar Nahar, Motasim Billah Sani, Kazi Mahmudul Haque Sena and others.
