Former Justice Minister Haim Ramon this morning (Wednesday) presented a broad assessment of what we are expected to see at the end of the election campaign in early November. Although this is the fifth round of elections in three years due to political instability, Ramon has said decisive things.
“This is the time that Netanyahu has a better chance of reaching 61,” Ramon said during an interview on 103FM. “This time he is in the best position that is, among other things, because the four parties in the current coalition are on the verge of a blocking percentage, it is enough that one does not pass and he is on 61 seats.”
Ramon explained that the talk of possible cooperation between the ultra-Orthodox and incoming Prime Minister Yair Lapid is not true. “I do not see Yair Lapid becoming prime minister,” he said.
“The only thing, for those who have a chance to be prime minister in a certain rotation is Gantz with Bibi if Bibi does not get 61. Either there will be a Netanyahu government or there will be a Gantz government that Gantz first but because he is smaller he will probably be a year and then Bibi.”
