The Bulgarian Volleyball Federation together with the Ministry of Youth and Sports and the Vasil Levski National Sports Academy are organizing a national seminar for coaches. The event will be held on September 25, Wednesday, at 2:00 p.m. in hall 3 of the sports academy. The program includes three panels with the participation of eminent specialists in the field – Antonina Zetova, Associate Professor Georgi Bozhilov and Nikola Dimitrov.

Antonina Zetova’s topic is “Systems of reception of a kick-off”. She is one of the great legends of women’s volleyball in Bulgaria. In that year, she won the European title as coach of the national team for women under 18 years of age. He has a long and successful career as a competitor, and is currently part of the CSKA coaching team together with Yulia Ivanova. Born in Pleven, but grew up in the sports school in Ruse. At the age of 16, he became part of the CSKA team for 5 years.

Abroad, she played for teams in Turkey, Italy, Spain and Greece. With the national team of Bulgaria, he won a bronze medal from the European Championship in Varna in 2001. As a coach, he also has a bronze medal from the World Championship for women under 21, won in 2017. At the club level, her biggest success was winning the Champions League in 2005/06 with the Italian team Perugia. He also triumphed in the CEV Cup tournament in 2004/05, and in 2007 he also lifted the Challenge Cup trophy.

“Personal psychological characteristics of volleyball players” is the topic of Prof. Dr. Georgi Bozhilov, who works at the National Academy of Sciences in the Faculty of Pedagogy (head of the “Basketball, Volleyball, Handball” department, “Volleyball” sector). Lokomotiv (Sofia) and NSA, has a gold medal from the Balkan Championship in 1982. In the period 1988-2003 he coached the representative women’s volleyball team of NSA.

Currently, he is a leading specialist in volleyball for undergraduate and graduate students. His scientific interests are in the field of high sportsmanship, technical-tactical training, tactical thinking and anticipation in the game actions of volleyball players, individual tactical actions in volleyball, statistics for volleyball intelligence in volleyball, etc. There are over 40 publications in the country and abroad.

Assistant Professor Nikola Dimitrov, who in recent years has been one of the leading lecturers of the European Volleyball Confederation (CEV) on the “With Volleyball at School” project, will also give a presentation. He participates in every single CEV Coaching Convention and his task now is to synthesize the most interesting topics from the fifth edition of the international seminar, which took place in Sofia (September 13-15).

Dimitrov also holds a master’s degree in technology, innovation and entrepreneurship. He graduated from the University of Sheffield, where he defended his dissertation on “Managing Complex and Chaotic Organizations in Southeast Europe: Key Factors and Management Tools” (October 2009).

The seminar is mandatory for the coaches who fall under the MMS program, but it is also open to all interested parties.

The national coaching seminar is organized with the support of the Ministry of Youth and Sports and is financed under the “Program for financial support of projects for personnel and scientific-methodical provision of sports federations for 2024″, as well as with the courtesy of the National Sports Academy.
